Watch this short video if you want to learn how to sew a button. But note that for theatre (and for Tech Olympics) you’ll need to pass through each pair of holes at least five times and wrap the shank at least seven times.

BUT REMEMBER, for theatre (and for Tech Olympics) you need a minimum of FIVE passes through each pair of holes and a minimum of SEVEN passes around the shank.

Powering Up/Down a Sound System

We need to pay attention to the order in which we turn on and off sound equipment. Mixers and computers "pop" on and off, amps "warm" up and down. This means that if the amp is on when you turn on/off a mixer or computer, then the "pop" will be amplified through the speakers, and that could damage them.

So...
When turning on a sound system, turn on the computer and mixer first, then the amp.
When turning off a sound system, turn off the amp first, then the computer and mixer.

I disagree with myself in this video - DON'T back up with a half double fisherman. Use two half-hitches. That is what everybody else does.

To back this up, just tie a "bow." Two quick releases is fine.
